Port Talbot Spartans Junior Basketball Club are the latest beneficiary of the Margam Green Energy Community Benefit Fund.
The Club received a grant to train 14 parents to become Mental Health Ambassadors and secure a Youth Mental Health First Aid Qualification. This enables each person to spot any signs of potential poor mental health amongst the young people who attend, help to provide support and guidance, and where needed signpost them to other services.
By training 14 parents, each age group (attendees range in age from 6 to 17) now has at least two parental Mental Health Ambassadors.
The Community Fund is provided by Schroders Greencoat, the owners of Margam Green Energy and is administered by Neath Port Talbot Council. The fund supports projects (to a maximum of £6,000) within the Taibach & Margam ward of Neath Port Talbot Council. For more information about the Fund and how to apply, please contact Paul Hinder, Project Development and Funding Manager at NPT Council : p.hinder@npt.gov.uk
